Semester ticket Koblenz

Students at Koblenz University of Applied Sciences (exception: students at the RheinAhrCampus) and the University of Koblenz receive the VRM-SemesterTicket automatically upon immatriculation or re-registration and can thus use the entire local bus and train service in the Rhein-Mosel Verkehrsverbund (VRM) without time restrictions. In addition to the city of Koblenz, the VRM area includes the districts of Ahrweiler, Altenkirchen, Cochem-Zell, Neuwied, Mayen-Koblenz, the Rhein-Lahn-Kreis, the Rhein-Hunsrück-Kreis and the Westerwaldkreis. With the semester ticket, you can take a bicycle with you free of charge. It is only valid on local trains and only in 2nd class.

Validation of the student card

Please make sure that you have your student ID validated in time for the semester change. The semester ticket is only valid if the student ID contains a stamp (validation) for the current semester. Validation on campus is also possible if the semester takes place online due to the pandemic.

Upgrade to Deutschlandticket

It is now possible to upgrade a valid semester ticket to a Deutschlandticket subscription. To do this, an app from the Rhein-Mosel transport association (VRMD ticket) must be installed on your smartphone (iOS: App Store; Android: Google Play).
The price for the upgrade for RMC, WWC and university students is €27.40/month.

Procedure in the event of problems with the acceptance of the Deutschlandticket in other transport associations:

In some cases, problems with reading out the data in the VRM D-Ticket app by other transport associations were reported. It is possible that inspectors demand an increased transport fee as a result.
In this case, you can request confirmation of the validity of your Deutschlandticket from the VRM. You then present this to the transport company that issued you with the payment request for an increased transport fee so that they can withdraw the unjustified claim.
