Students at the RheinAhrCampus Remagen of Koblenz University of Applied Sciences automatically receive the Semesterticket Remagen upon immatriculation or re-registration and can thus use the local public transport services in parts of the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Mosel (VRM) as well as in parts of the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Sieg (VRS) without time restrictions.

Please make sure that you have your student ID validated in time for the semester change. The semester ticket is only valid if the student ID contains a stamp (validation) for the current semester. Validation on campus is also possible if the semester takes place online due to the pandemic.

Students would have to prove their place of residence at a ticket check by means of an identity card or certificate of registration.

Bicycle transport:

In the VRM area, you can take a bicycle on buses and trains free of charge. On the Rhine ferry Remagen-Kripp/Linz, you can even take a car, motorbike or bicycle free of charge. In the VRS area, on the other hand, you have to buy a single or 4-trip ticket (price level 1b/2a) to take your bike with you.

Upgrade to Deutschlandticket

It is now possible to upgrade a valid semester ticket to a Deutschlandticket subscription. To do this, an app from the Rhein-Mosel transport association (VRMD ticket) must be installed on your smartphone (iOS: App Store; Android: Google Play).
The price The price for the upgrade for RAC students is only €18.90/month due to the higher contribution to the existing semester ticket.

Procedure in the event of problems with the acceptance of the Deutschlandticket in other transport associations:

In some cases, problems with reading out the data in the VRM D-Ticket app by other transport associations were reported. It is possible that inspectors demand an increased transport fee as a result.
In this case, you can request confirmation of the validity of your Deutschlandticket from the VRM. You then present this to the transport company that issued you with the payment request for an increased transport fee so that they can withdraw the unjustified claim.
